Virat Kohli adorned with special gesture by Hong Kong team in Asia Cup 2022

Virat Kohli

In the Asia Cup 2022 match against Hong Kong, Team India’s standout batsman Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten half-century (59* off 44 deliveries), making a much-needed comeback to run-scoring.

India set up a good score of 192/2 because to an unbroken 98-run partnership between Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav (68*), who batted at number three. The team eventually held Hong Kong to 152/5 to win the match by 40 runs.

Even though Kohli hasn’t been playing at his best lately, the 33-year-old batter is still a role model for many aspiring cricketers around the world. On Wednesday, the Hong Kong players showed their appreciation for Kohli with a special gesture. The squad sent Kohli a jersey for the national team along with a kind note for the Indian player.

“I appreciate how you motivated a generation. We support you. There are many amazing days in store. Team Hong Kong, with courage and love, “said the message. “Thanks to @hkcricket,” Kohli sent a photo of the jersey on his official Instagram account. This is a really kind and humble gesture.

After a sabbatical of more than a month, during which he missed India’s limited-overs tours to the West Indies and Zimbabwe, Kohli made his comeback to international cricket. Last Sunday, the 33-year-old hitter played against Pakistan and scored 35 runs off of 34 deliveries. His performance lessened the shock of KL Rahul’s first-ball duck dismissal, which came early in the innings.

In the second game against Hong Kong, Kohli entered the fray after captain Rohit Sharma was dismissed early (21 off 13 balls). Despite starting out slowly, the former India captain eventually picked up the pace alongside Suryakumar Yadav, whose blitzkrieg was a big factor in India’s game-high 190+ score.

While delivering the 17th over of the inning and helping Hong Kong chase down runs, Kohli also rolled his arm over. Six runs were allowed by him in the over.
