US Parade Shooting: Suspect held, questioned for six hours after six killed and dozens injured

During the recent US Independence parade, Robert E Crimo III has allegedly killed six people and wounded more than 36 people. After the psycho-driven crime committed by him, Crimo was held captive by the US armed forces.

Crimo had committed the crime hours after a man was detained who had carried a high profile rifle with him and was hiding on the rooftop of the Chicago suburb building in Highland Park. The man was likely to open fire on the parade crowd, as per the reports state.

According to police reports, Robert, who is aged 22, is behind these attacks. Chris Covelli, the spokesperson for Lake County Major Crime Task Force said. “This individual is believed to have been responsible for what happened.”

Hours after the shooting began, Joe Biden tweeted, “Jill and I are shocked by the senseless gun violence that has yet again brought grief to an American community this Independence Day. As always, we are grateful for the first responders and law enforcement on the scene. I will not give up fighting the epidemic of gun violence.”

As CNN reported, Crimo had been spotted by a North Chicago officer while he was attempting to initiate a traffic stop. Soon after the commotion, the 22-year-old accused fled and led the officers on a pursuit before he was sacked around Lake Forest in Illinois.

On 4th July, thousands of parade-walkers were soaked in the Independence Day celebrations of the US which was held at the Highland Park in Illinois. However, soon after the whole area was grappled with fear and panic as dozens of bullets were fired at the crowd at around 10:15 AM.

As per Brigham Temple, an emergence doctor at the spot said that the injured numbers varied in age, specifically falling in the age group of 8-85 year-olds. The latest gun-shot accident is going to incite panic and havoc among the crowd as well as fuel the gun-violence debate.

JB Pritzker, the governor of Illinois reiterated in a statement, “There are no words for the kind of monster who lies in wait and fires into a crowd of families with children celebrating a holiday with their community.”
