He again added that India consists of its self stack of radios, equipments and 4G handsets, which are again to undergo similar goals as the 5G spectrum.

The Union government, on Wednesday, stated that it has raised a proposal to the Department of Telecommunications for conducting an auction for the 5G spectrum, which will call upon successful bidders and entities for providing 5G services to the public.

Commenting on the same, the Union government tweeted, “The spectrum auction will be benefitted by the Telecom Sector Reforms announced in September, 2021. The reforms include zero Spectrum Usage Charges (SUC) on the spectrum acquired in the upcoming auction, providing a significant relief to the service providers in terms of the operating cost of telecom networks. Further, the requirement of submitting a financial bank guarantee equivalent to one annual instalment has also been done away with.”

Stating his views further on the matter, Vaishnaw tweeted that the 5G spectrum is going to be the beginning of a new era for the Indian Telecom department. Pertaining to the views of the government, he highlighted that the future is going to witness India’s emergence in the telecom sector, which is going to list it among the leading nations hosting 5G technology as well the upcoming 6G network.

In March 2023, as per promised by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, India would be all set to host 5G technology, and by the end of the decade, even the launch of 6G technology.

Commenting on the 5G technology, he said that it will multiply the growth of all sectors in India including education, health, logistics, agriculture, infrastructure, and IT. On an overall basis, this technology will also lead to the expansion of employment, technological development, as well as convenience.
