In a recent development, there has been the advent of first wind turbines which run without any blade or gears. It is better known as the Vortex Blade-less Turbine, which is witnessing a great buzz around the whole globe. The creators have claimed in the media that the vortex run without any kind of electricity, especially by oscillating back and forth. This oscillation allows the vortex to harness rounds of energy, regardless of any wind strength or circulation.
Despite its function, many claim that it looks extremely unusual and strange in its structure. Many also questioned, “Why create such a weird looking machine?” The answer is pretty simple. The design is set for better functioning of the machine, with ease and less energy consumption.
The best feature of this machine is that it decreases the number of birds killed by the blades of wind turbines. Reports state that over 3,28,000 birds fall to death each year, due to wind turbine-related accidents. Vortex Blades was recognised by Equinor; Norway’s official state oil company. It was included in the top 10 most exciting startups in 2021.
It is most likely that we will be witnessing more such numbers of white rods in the future. It is surely one of the most impressive and exciting revelations in this year, which is a great asset to our environment as well as society.
