The trailer of Taapsee Pannu led biopic of Mithali Raj Shabaash Mithu was released on Monday. The film chronicles the life-story of the Indian cricketing maestro and narrates her struggle to become the best women cricketer of the country.
Soon after the trailer was released, it received immense support and admiration from both fans and other celebrities of the industry alike. As the trailer made quite a buzz in the internet, it took the cricketing fraternity of the country into its fan-base as well. Taking a look at the trailer, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar took to his Twitter account to praising the movie and congratulate Taapsee Pannu along with the whole team for such tremendous work.
The current BBCI President and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly shared the trailer of the film through his Twitter account on Monday. Sharing the same tweet, Sachin wrote, “The #ShabaashMithuTrailer is heartwarming. Mithali has inspired millions to dream and follow their passion & I am looking forward to watch this movie. My best wishes to the entire team.”
For stalwarts like Tendulkar and Ganguly to have immensely praised the trailer, cricketing fans across the country has highly appreciated the movie alongside Mithali Raj’s contribution to Indian cricket.

Her immense contribution to the game has made her the best woman cricketer of the century; being the highest run-scorer of the game alongside having other mammoth records achieved since the debut of the little genius in international cricket in 1999.
Mithali Raj, after a successful career of 23 years, announced her retirement from international cricket this month. The upcoming biopic named Shabaash Mithu is directed by Srijit Mukherji, and played by Taapsee Pannu, often referred as the most versatile and out-spoke actress of the Bollywood industry. The film is all set to release on 15th July, 2022.

Talking to ANI, Tapsee Pannu lauded Mithali Raj in an interview for her immense contribution to the game. Here is what the actress said for Mithali: “There are cricketers who have records under their name. There are cricketers who have tremendous fan following. There are cricketers who inspire you and make you believe that if they can so can you! And then there’s Mithali who did all of this in her classic graceful style and also changed the game of cricket where the presence of women in concerned.”
