Shah Rukh Khan describes Pathaan as “patriotic” amid boycott claims

Shah Rukh Khan, who is getting ready for the premiere of his new movie Pathaan, took some time to respond to Twitter questions from fans. He tweeted on Saturday night, “Come everyone, let’s have a 15-minute #AskSRK. Then, work calls. His infrequent ask-me-anything session takes place in the midst of the continuing debate around his movie song, Besharam Rang.

An audience member responded to the actor by asking, “Why #AskSRK is always for 15 minutes?” Because everyone deserves 15 minutes of fame, Shah Rukh replied. He also responded to another admirer by saying, “#Pathaan is also really patriotic..but in an action style.”

Someone else questioned Shah Rukh about why he no longer participates in movies like Swades and Chak De! India. The 57-year-old actor responded with a tweet that read, “Bana toh do kitni baar banaoon (We have made two similar films, how many times should I do it)?

He was also asked to forecast Pathaan’s opening weekend box office performance. Reacting to it, he stated, “I am not in the business of predictions,” Shah Rukh stated. I am in the business of making you laugh and having fun. My team is now contacting me to work. I’ll speak with you all again soon. Please don’t feel bad if you missed it; the photo is still there. I appreciate your affection and your time. I’ll see you shortly in a theatre. #Pathaan,”

Siddharth Anand is the director of Shah Rukh’s Pathaan, which debuts on January 25 of the next year. Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are featured as well. After Besharam Rang, the movie’s opening song, was released, there was criticism around it.

Since some individuals objected to Deepika’s attire in the song, which included a saffron bikini, many have called for a boycott of the movie. Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and others are accused of “hurting religious emotions” of Hindus in Besharam Rang in a complaint plea submitted to a court in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district on Friday.

Narottam Mishra, the home minister for Madhya Pradesh, stated to reporters earlier on Wednesday, “The song’s costumes are inappropriate. The song conveys a filthy mentality.” He continued, “I suggest the film’s creators to modify the song’s offensive elements. Previously, at JNU, Deepika Padukone spoke out in favour of the “Tukde Tukde Gang.” Her mindset was made clear. I think the song’s “Besharam Rang” title is equally offensive. Additionally, the costumes’ use of the colours green and saffron is offensive. If changes are not made, we shall decide whether or not to allow the movie to be played in Madhya Pradesh.”
