Saskatchewan, Canada witnesses horrific stabbing crime; 10 killed, 15 injured

Canada

10 people were killed and 15 injured in a string of stabbings that occurred in two communities in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, according to authorities on Sunday. Two suspects are being sought by police. According to police, there were several stabbings on the James Smith Cree Nation and in the northeast Saskatoon town of Weldon.

Some of the victims, according to Rhonda Blackmore, Assistant Commissioner of the RCMP Saskatchewan, appear to have been targeted by the accused, while other victims appear to have been attacked randomly. She was unable to give a reason.

“What happened in our province today is awful”, said Blackmore. There are 13 crime scenes, according to her, where bodies or injured victims have been discovered.

The hunt for the suspects was conducted as spectators flocked to Regina for the annual sold-out Labor Day match between the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League.

In a press release, the Regina Police Service stated that it was collaborating with Mounties to search for and apprehend the individuals on numerous fronts and that it had “deployed additional resources for public safety around the city, including the football game at Mosaic Stadium.”

As the two suspects remained at large, the notice that was initially issued by Melfort, Saskatchewan RCMP at 7 a.m. was later expanded to include Manitoba and Alberta.

Myles Sanderson, 30, is six feet one inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, whereas Damien Sanderson, 31, is five feet seven inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. Both may be operating a black Nissan Rogue, and they both have black hair and brown eyes. According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority, numerous individuals were receiving care at various locations.

In response to the rush of victims, “a need for more employees was made,” authority spokeswoman Anne Linemann wrote in an email. Two helicopters were sent from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, and another from Regina, according to Mark Oddan, a STARS Air Ambulance spokesman.

He claimed that two transported patients to the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon and that the third transported a patient from a hospital in Melfort, which is located just to the southeast of Weldon, to the Royal University.
