Reliance Jio to launch 5g phone costing less than 12,000 INR: reports

By this year’s Diwali, Reliance Jio plans to launch standalone 5G services in a few major Indian cities. The chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani, revealed during the annual general meeting that Google and the telecom giant are working together to create a 5G smartphone. The smartphone’s specifications had not been made public by the firm.

A Counterpoint Research research suggests that the price of the 5G-capable Jio smartphone could range from 8,000 to 12,000 rupees. According to the source, Jio will release this product following the successful rollout of 5G services in major cities.

According to the report, the new 5G smartphone is in line with Jio’s strategy, which calls for using the Jio Phone Next 4G to first get hundreds of millions of 2G phone customers onto its 4G network before luring them onto the 5G network.

The cost of 5G plans may be 20% higher than that of 4G plans, according to some reports. According to a report by Hindustan Times sister site Live Hindustan, the corporation plans to raise its average income per user to 188 in 2024 and then to 208 by 2025.

The Jio 5G smartphone is expected to have a 6.5 inch HD+IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1600×720 pixels, according to earlier rumors. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage will power it. The phone is anticipated to operate on the Google Android 11 operating system.

When it comes to photography characteristics, the Jio 5G smartphone is anticipated to boast a 13MP+2MP rear dual camera configuration. A 8 megapixel camera is anticipated to be on its front panel. According to the Live Hindustan report, it might feature 18W fast charging and have a 5,000 mAh battery.
