The 5th test, scheduled on 1st July, was postponed in 2021 as the Indian camp witnessed the rise of Covid-19 cases. Currently, the Indian side is leading the series by 2-1. The England tour, apart from the test match, will also include three ODIs and T20Is under the assistance of Rahul Dravid.

There have been a lot of changes in both sides ever since the last match was postponed in 2021 – Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s captain, and Rohit’s takeover of Indian captaincy in all formats. On the other hand, Ben Strokes has taken over as the English captain and Joe Root was sacked from the position.

Both the cricketing sides have also had new head coaches – Ravi Shastri stepped down as the India head coach and Rahul Dravid took over the legacy, while Brendon McCullum has been appointed as the English head coach after Chris Silverwood was removed from the position in May.
