The news was made the day after the 96-year-old queen postponed a Privy Council meeting. Liz Truss was chosen by the queen two days prior to become her reign’s fifteenth prime minister.

Since October of last year, Queen Elizabeth II has struggled with health issues that make it difficult for her to stand or move. The news from Buckingham Palace this lunchtime will cause “the whole country to be profoundly concerned,” according to British Prime Minister Liz Truss.
