A constitutional requirement states that the Prime Minister must submit a vote of confidence within one month after taking the oath of office. After the nation’s elections on November 20, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari announced the first session of the new Parliament on January 9.

The next prime minister of the landlocked country, “Prachanda,” will be sworn in during this inaugural Parliamentary session. After submitting a letter to President Bhandari demonstrating the support of 169 members of the 275-member House of Representatives, Prachanda was chosen as the new prime minister of the nation.
