PM Narendra Modi spent ₹22.76 crore in foreign trips since 2019

The government announced on Thursday that PM Narendra Modi has travelled abroad on 21 occasions since 2019 and that more than 22.76 crore was spent on these journeys.

According to a written response to a query in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan stated that the President made eight travels abroad and that more than 6.24 crore was spent on these trips since 2019.

Since 2019, the government has spent $6,24,31,424 on the visits of the president, $22,76,76,934 on those of the prime minister, and $20,87,01,475 on those of the minister for external affairs.

The PM travelled 21 times since 2019, compared to the President’s eight travels abroad. S. Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, travelled abroad on 86 occasions during this time.

The prime minister has travelled to the US, the UAE, and Japan three times since 2019. Ram Nath Kovind made seven of the president’s eight trips, while Droupadi Murmu, the current president, travelled to the UK in September.
