Asaduddin Owaisi, the chief of All India Majili-e-Ittehadul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), lashed the central government on Thursday pertaining to the denial of discussions meant to be held in the Parliament for Chinese invading activities over the LAC (Line of Actual Control), with a highly reputed American chief general, who is known as the “eye-opener”.
Reiterating over the matter, Owaisi told the media about a “foreigner” who informs us about any “alarming” infrastructural development over the LOC by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Reacting over the same, the AIMIM president emphasized on India’s ardent need of the US general who will scrutinize the situation going on in Ladakh from the Chinese’s petulant activities, which can be “alarming” and “eye-opneing” as India’s PM Narendra Modi has forgotten “how to pronounce China.”
He further added. “It is extremely disappointing as my questions on the subjects were rightfully denied in the discussion held inside the Parliament; especially, when no such discussion has taken place on the Chinese border activities. On that, it’s even more shameful that a foreigner has to tell us this in Delhi.”
General Charles A Flynn, the Commanding General of the United States Army (Pacific), on Wednesday highlighted the Chinese developments over the LAC and termed it as an “eye-opener” in the discussion being held on the overall environment of the Ladakh region.
Gen Flynn, who is on a four day term in India, further added in his remarks about the same, “The [Chinese] activity level is an eye-opening. Some of the infrastructure being created in the PLA’s Western Theatre Command is alarming. One has to ask the question ‘why’, and get a response as to what are their intentions.”
His comments came out in the public at a time when India’s border row dispute with China over the eastern Ladakh region is in its 3rd year; a full resolution on the matter is yet to be in sight, when both the sides will mutually act and come upon a decision over the LAC dispute.
Reacting to this development, Owaisi tweeted, “The central government under Modi has become weak, dishonest and timid as it keeps the Indians in dark about matters dissolved with China. It’s a threat on our national security and it is certainly not a single party issue, it should concern each and every Indian.” Ever since his tweet came out, the public has become more agitated towards the matter.
