Narendra Modi leads International Yoga Day celebration, says “Yoga brings peace to universe”

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Yoga is a medium through once can achieve ultimate peace in the universe. From the iconic Mysore Palace in Karnataka, Modi initiated the International Yoga day celebrations by stating, “Yoga is no longer a part of life… it’s becoming a way of life.”

Underscoring the serenity of spiritual individualism, Narendra Modi further remarked, “This whole universe starts from our own body and soul. The universe starts from us. And, Yoga makes us conscious of everything within us and builds a sense of awareness. Yoga brings peace for us. The peace from Yoga is not merely for individuals. Yoga brings peace to our society. Yoga brings peace to our nations and the world. And, Yoga brings peace to our universe.”

The central theme of International Yoga Day for this year is the symbol of ‘Guardian Ring’, which seeks to honour and celebrate the divinity of “One Sun, One Earth”. As per government statement, approximately eighty Indian embassies across the globe are celebrating the existence of yoga along with its daily practice.

Reiterating further on the embracing occasion, PM Narendra Modi said, “At the international level too, this time we are embracing the ‘Guardian Ring of Yoga’ all over the world. With the sunrise, with the movement of the sun, people are doing Yoga in different countries of the world.”

He further added, This time the theme of International Day of Yoga is “Yoga for Humanity. I thank the United Nations and all the countries for sending this message to the entire humanity through this theme.”

Prior to a day for the International Yoga Day, Narendra Modi on Monday had reached Karnataka for the launching event of numerous big-budget projects worth more than 27,000 crores. Addressing an event on Monday, PM Modi said, “Karnataka is a perfect example of how we can realise the resolutions of the 21st century by enriching our ancient culture.”

To embrace 75 glorious years of India Independence, the centre has selected 75 iconic sites for the 8th occasion of International Yoga Day. ‘Yoga for Humanity’ which remains the theme for this year emphasizes on ‘Branding India at Global Stage’ that will feature all the iconic sites chosen by the government.

The Statue of Unity at Kevadia in Gujarat also witnesses the celebration of Iternational Yoga Day with the event being led by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Health Minister of India.

Other magnificent rounds of celebration are taking place all over the country – The Education Minister leading Yoga Day developments at the iconic Kangra Fort in Himachal Pradesh, Rajnath Singh leading the celebrations at the Indian Air Force base in Coimbatore , Tamil Nadu’s and Amit Shah participating in the event of Delhi.
