Mika Singh receives a notice from Goa Panchayat against illegal construction of his villa

In a recent development, a local village panchayat of Goa issued a notice against the multi-talented Bollywood and Punjabi singer A.K.A rapper Mika Singh. The notice issued against him highlighted the concerns over the construction of his beach-front villa situated in Anjuna; according to sources, Mika’s villa has been built without proper permissions from concerned authorities and hence remains a physical violation under the Coastal Regulation Zone norms.

Patrick Almeida, the sarpanch of Anjuna village told the media that the local governing body has issues a noticed to Mika Singh, asking him to immediately stop the construction of his villa, after receiving a concerning complaint from Ravi Harmalkar and Gambino Drago.

According to both of them, Mika had initiated the construction without seeking any sort of permission from the concerned authorities, which includes the Town and Country Planning Department, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority and the village panchayat committee of Anjuna.

The duo alleged the construction of the renowned singer’s villa as staged; it is a two storied villa going well under the sea, with an enclosed are of up to 3 metre beyond the otherwise line of high tide.

As per the regulations issued by the Coastal Zone Regulations, no particular construction work is to undertake between 0-200 metres from the high tide line. There is only one exception to this, which is given to structures that belong to the fishers communion existing prior to the notification coming into force.   

The complaints issued against Mika Singh allege him of constructing the villa under the demarcated area of 3 metre beyond sea level, also known as the high tide line.

Commenting on the same, the sarpanch told the authorities, “have received the complaint and have issued him a notice asking him to stop the work. If there is no satisfactory reply to the notice, we will place the matter before the panchayat body and take further action.” He also added that the singer has not yet responded to the notice issued against him.

As per regulations, Mika Singh is to reply the concerned authorities on why his construction includes violated means and terms, which were clearly defined to him before the allotment.

It is surprising that the singer is yet left to be vocal about his plans over this matter. In that case, his response will remain crucial on further advancement of the matter; who will clinch victory here is a question to be kept in significance.
