There is good news for Mercedes fans as the company has launched the much awaited Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC in India. It is Maybach’s first luxury SUV to go on sale in the global markets and has received several changes over the standard GLS. The company has not yet disclosed how many units of this will be sold in India, but all the cars of the first batch have already been booked. The Maybach GLS 600 has a 3,135mm wheelbase, tubeless and radial alloy wheels. Also, sunroof and moonroof features have been given in it. Apart from that, there is a chrome grille on the front as well. Talking about lighting, features like DRLs, LED headlights, LED taillights and cornering headlamps have been given in it.
At the same time, the car also includes rain sensing wipers, rear washer and defogger as well as power windows feature which make it modern.
The new GLS 600 gets heated front and rear seats. It also gets fabric upholstery and multi-function power leather steering wheel with all ventilated leather seats. Talking about its features, it has been given voice control feature and touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from that, several features like Bluetooth, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and SD card reader have also been provided for connectivity. Currently, it is offered in four and five-seater options.
The new GLS 600 is powered by a BS6 compliant 3,982cc powerful V8 engine that generates 730 Nm of peak torque at 542 bhp speed. In addition, a 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox and AWD system has been added to the car which provides additional 250 Nm of torque and 21 bhp output. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.2 seconds and its maximum speed is 246kmph.
In terms of safety, the car is equipped with a blind spot monitor and parking sensors, power door locks and a central locking system. Keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, the GLS 600 SUV has been provided with front and rear side airbags along with driver airbag, passenger airbag and knee airbag. For the safety of children, ISOFIX child seat mount and child safety lock have also been given in it. The Mercedes-Benz GLS Maybach s600 4MATIC has been priced at Rs 2.43 crore. In comparison, the Mercedes-Benz GLE in the Indian market starts at Rs 77.24 lakh and the BMW X7 starts at Rs 95.90 lakh.
