LML join hands with SAERA Electric Auto to re-enter the market with EV scooters

Lohia-Machinery (LML) Electric Company recently announced that it has partnered with SAERA Electric Auto in order to produce electric scooters. The company will use the Saira factory in Bawar, Haryana, to make the electric scooters. This is the same factory that used to make Harley-Davidson motorcycles. LML Corporation is now working with Saira Electric on this project.

The SAERA Electric Autos were the first manufacturers for the Harley Davidson brand in India. It used to make major parts for Harley-Davidson motorcycles at the factory before shipping them to the United States. However, now that Harley-Davidson has closed its operations in India, LML Electric is about to start making electric scooters with the help of SAERA’s technology and overall operational support.

LML drove millions of Indians crazy for its bikes of the 90s. The company has carved a niche for itself in the country based on affordable and attractive scooters as well as sports bikes. By 2025, the company projects an aim of manufacturing its products entirely in India. If the reports are true, LML will soon launch an electric scooter to gain a foothold in the Indian market.

LML’s sudden foray into electric could be a setback for many e-scooter startups as it was a successful venture in the past and people are familiar with the brand and the kind of services it offers. In this case of rapprochement, smaller companies that have proven their presence in the market are more likely to experience a decline in sales. LML can strike a great deal of competition not only for startups, but also for stalwarts like Ola, Ather, and Hero Electric.

Yogesh Bhatia, the director of LML Electric, reiterated that the company is very excited about his comeback in the market. The products launched by LML will be latest in technology, as well as in design and appearance. With its re-entry, the company will also focus on the autonomy and power of its scooters in order to prove its economical efficiency for customers. Other reports from the market hint that LML is also in a developing stage of an electric bike. However, nothing has been revealed about it on official terms.
