Indonesian government to begin construction of new capital city worth $34 million from August’22

The Indonesian nation state is looking to begin the construction of new government buildings in the new capital city by August 2022. This news has been reiterated by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo who is pushing ahead with the project with a $34 million ambition of building the capital city fro scratch.

As has been reported by the media, the city will comprise of smart initiatives. Basuki Hadimuljono, the Central Minister of Housing and Public Works has told the president that he had visited the state palace in a recent phenomenon and that the location is ideally suitable for the establishment of new government buildings.

Adding more in his statement, the minister highlighted the new constructions being planned by the government to enhance the infrastructure of Nusantara, as the capital is about to be called. The capital city will be equipped with advanced facilities like smart interventions on road networks, proper drainage systems, sanitation, efficient water systems, and well-constructed toll roads.

The Indonesian government decided on the mandate to shift its capital from Jakarta to East Kalimantan that will bring more prosperity, wealth and development in the country and in its wealthiest island Java.

Nusantara, the new about to be Indonesian capital is being planned to be a highly environment-friendly and sustainable city which will look t incorporate advance technological know-how processes such as extensive use of renewable energy, nature-suited constructions and less environment impactful developmental projects. However, it has been in the media that the development of Nusantara might pose danger on world’s oldest rainforests.

President Joko, commenting on the upcoming developments has said, “What is most important is that we want to be Indonesia-centric, not Java-centric. When we draw a line from west to east and north to south, the center point is this East Kalimantan province.”

In order to better equip the new capital city with all facilities, the Indonesian President has invited several global leaders and media persons to survey the site. He also spoke to recently passed out university students on the success of the new capital and seeker for garner support from the n executing all plans efficiently.
