Here are some common UX design mistakes one should avoid while developing a mobile application.

Smartphones have paved the way to the advent of a new technological boom that can do away with everything; ranging from work, academic, leisure, entertainment and media. And do you know what makes these things accessible? The answer is simple; applications. As we know, all applications run on the model of UX design as it is the most important factor that base the success of an application. In this article, we bring to you a list of common UX design mistakes that one must avoid during an app development.

1. Overlooking compatibility : It is important to understand that your app will run in association with the others and will only function well when you keep it compatible. This is why all apps must have the capacity to work in the presence of other applications.

2. Complex interface: It is a fact that today’s world is a face space, where people love to understand, learn and adapt. In such a circumstance, often the less complicated and seamless alternative gets a better response against the complex. The usage of apps runs with the same concept and this is why you should avoid forming a complex and consuming interface for your app.

3. Poor app architecture: It is smart of you to create an app architecture before developing your app as it will help you implement the idea with a better categorisation module. Alongside the architect, ensure mapping out the user flow and check the industry requirement as well as the need of your consumer base.

4. Disappointing first impression: A constructive first impression towards your app is necessary as they say, the first impression is the last impression. If the app fails to charm the users on the first go then there is a slim chance of it making it to success. In fact, as per Andrew Chen, approximately 77 percent of users end up abandoning an app after three days of downloading it. So, unless you have the right onboarding experience, your app won’t stick long.

5. Mimic competition: You all should have it’s own individuality and ideas to change the experience of the users all together. Merely adapting from a pre-existing app will not be enough. If you fail to mark a striking difference through your app that the already established giants in your sector, then your app will undoubtedly get lost in the crowd.

6. Inconsistency in design: The concept of branding is everywhere which makes it a necessary drive to be included for your app. Reports by Forbes reveal that consistent branding helps to boost the revenue by 23 percent. Whether it be a color scheme, font, or template, make sure that each page of your app is consistent. Consistency boosts familiarity and recognition.
