In the recent event of I/O conducted by Google, the company announced Flutter 2.2, a latest development framework application meant for cross framework. After the application went through an update, it has witnessed exciting developments like the Android deferred components, iOS performance improvements, Null safety by default, improvements to Desktop and Dev tools, and many more.

1. Dart 2.13
Flutter 2.2 comes up with various new features out of which Dart 2.13 is one of the most impressive. It comprises the second most sought after aliases, Dart FFI, update on the null safety feature, etc.
2. Custom Text Action
With the new update, Flutter 2.2 has extended its range to a number of different inputs like touch or mouse+keyboard. The users can now customise the keystrokes as a whole which is rooted to text actions.
3. Mouse Cursor over Text Spans
With the new Flutter 2.2, if a user is using Text Span with Gesture Detector, then the user can avail a corresponding mouse cursor together. It also supports onEnter and onExit events.
4. Automatic Scrolling Behaviour
Before the new release of the Flutter 2.2 in the Android and iOS version, there was no automatic addition of the scrollbar and it had to be added manually. However, with the advent of the new update, whenever a content exceeds the screen height, the scrollbar will be added automatically.
5. Windows UWP apps.
The Universal Windows Platform App has now shifted on to alpha in the Dev Channel. UWP apps can be run on a wide number of devices. To enable it, one needs to switch to the Dev Channel and set the requirements in the setup.
6. Payments and Monetization
The Flutter 2.2 comes with an inclusion of a new plugin which enables the addition of Google Pay on Android and iOS models via google mobile Ads SDK. With this, it has become easier than before to monetize an app through the in-app purchases, payments and Ads.
7. Support of Deferred Component (Android)
The deferred components have now been officially added in the Flutter 2.2. However, it is only limited to Android OS and doesn’t support iOS as of now.
