In a recent development on Tuesday, the transgender daughter Elon Musk made it to the headlines as she filed a petition request for changing her name. According to sources, the girl wishes to change her name in accordance to her new identity, as well as because she no longer wishes to “live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form.”
The petition request which appealed for a name change as well as issuing of a new birth certificate denoting her new gender identity had been filed at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica back in April. However, the news has made it to the headlines as legal reports have arrived recently.
The daughter of Elon Musk was previously named Xavier Alexander Musk, who has recently turned 18. In California, 18 years is considered the legal age of consent and in light of that, Xavier has pleaded the court to let her change the name as she has undergone a gender transformation – from male to female – and further make a legal registration of the new name that she has wished for herself.

The online platform PlainSite.org carries all court documents for the same legal process, and following her request, her name had been redacted according to government modules. Xavier’s mother, named Justine Wislon, parted ways with Elon Musk after their divorce in 2008.
Beyond the issue of changing his daughter’s name, the Elon Musk and Xavier case had not found any further explanation on the rift between the father-daughter duo. Currently, Elon Musk, the chief of SapceX and Tesla, is attempting a takeover of social media giant Twitter for a mammoth sum of $44 billion.
On Monday, soon after the news caught fire, Reuters news agency sent repeated emails to both Musk and his Tesla team for any comment on the matter. However, there has been no response by any of Musk’s lawyer of anyone from his offices.
Back in May, approximately a month after the name and gender change issue was filed, Elon Musk declared his fellowship for the Republican Party. This political party has ideals which believe in rafting legislations that would look to limit transgender rights and services across the country.

Recently, Elon Musk has also shown his disparagement on transgender based pronouns being highly used over social media. Tweeting about the same in 2020, Musk wrote, “I absolutely support trans, but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare.”
