The results of the assembly elections in four states and the union territory of Puducherry have become almost clear. In West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has recorded a sweeping victory over the BJP. In Kerala, the Left Democratic Front (LDF) has managed to come to power for the second consecutive time. At the same time, there has been a change of power in Tamil Nadu and the alliance of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has won a majority. The BJP alliance has won in Assam and Puducherry.

Mamta’s wave in Bengal, winning more than 210 seats: First of all, politically very important West Bengal. TMC has won or is leading in 216 seats out of 292 seats in the state. At the same time, BJP has managed to win only 75 seats. The coalition of the Left parties and the Congress coalition has cleared and it has failed to win a single seat. In Nandigram, Mamata Banerjee defeated BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari by 1,201 votes.

Change of power in Tamil Nadu, DMK-Congress coalition gets majority: Talking about Tamil Nadu, the DMK and Congress alliance has won here. Out of 234 seats in the state, the DMK alliance is leading or has won in 142 seats. The alliance of All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and BJP is behind and has won only 90 seats. Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) and Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Nidhi Miam (MNM) managed to win one seat each.

Left’s historic victory in Kerala: Talking about Kerala, the ruling left-wing coalition LDF is leading or winning 95 out of 140 seats here. The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has won just 44 seats. BJP has not got any seats. This is the first time in the history of Kerala in the last 40 years when a ruling party or coalition is going to return to power again.

BJP coalitions government in Assam and Puducherry almost certain to form: The BJP alliance is leading or winning 76 out of the 126 seats in Assam and is on the way back to power. The Congress alliance is leading in 44 seats. Talking about Puducherry, the trend of 23 seats has come here and the BJP alliance has won 14 seats and has a large majority. The Congress alliance is ahead in just seven seats.
