Dinesh Karthik takes a massive leap in T20I rankings post India VS South Africa series

The Indian wicket-keeper batsmen Dinesh Karthik has gotten a flashing leap of 108 positions in the ICC T20 rankings in the batsmen category after a fleeting performance during the recent India VS South Africa T20I series.

Dinesh Kathik, after the recent season of IPL, has been discovered as the “new finisher” of India T20 squad. After he had performed immensely well in the recent series for India, Dinesh Kathik has witnessed a sudden leap – he ranks 87th in ICC T20 rankings.

Meanwhile, the batting maestro of India, Ishan Kishan stood as the only Indian batsmen to have ranked in the top 10 positions for category of batsmen. The young dynamite has had a blast of a series against South Africa; he finished the series with 206 runs (with two handsome half centuries) at a batting average of 41. He currently ranks 6th in the ICC Men’s T20 Batsmen category – moved one position ahead after the South Africa series.

Dinesh Karthik, the man of the hour, has had an impressive form since the Indian Premier League 2022 – he stood out from the crowd with his smashing performances, sweet timing and handsome shots – playing a crucial role down the order for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Recently, during the 4th T20I against South Africa, Karthik bagged the man of the match award after an exquisite innings of 55 runs off just 27 deliveries. His knock helped India get to a respectable score, leading to their victory and levelling of the series by 2-2.

Apart from Dinesh Karthik, Pakistani captain and batsmen Babar Azam made blazing appearances by retaining the 1st position in the ICC T20I Batsmen rankings. Among bowlers, Yuzvendra Chahal pset forth quite an impressive shift in the t20 rankings as he jumped three positions above, standing 23rd now in the list after securing a total of six wickets during the India VS South Africa series.

In the bowlers category, Josh Hazelwood retains the first position, followed by Afghani spinning maestro Rashid Khan (placed 3rd) and Sri Lankan tweaker Wanindru Hasaranga (placing sixth). All these players moved up in rankings inside the top 10 positions.

In the all rounder’s category, Ravindra Jadeja has retained his top position in Test all-rounders’ list with a staging score of 385 points. The former Indian captain Virat Kohli has also retained his 10th position in the chart, while the spearheaded Jasprit Bumrah and spinning legend Ravichandran Aswin have occupied their positions – the second and third respectively in tests.
