Covid-19 Update: India makes negative RT-PCR mandatory for travelers from China

According to Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on Thursday. RT-PCR tests to detect Covid-19 infections will be required for travelers arriving from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand. These are the nations that are reporting a sharp increase in Covid cases.

“Beginning January 1, 2023, all flyers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand must undergo an RT-PCR test. Before leaving, they must send their reports to the Air Suvidha portal “explained the health minister.

This occurs as government surveillance is increased in response to a significant increase of Covid cases across many nations, including China. 39 foreign visitors arriving in India on Wednesday tested positive during the 6,000 random tests conducted at airports over the previous two days.

Indian Covid usage is expected to increase in January, according to health experts. Over the next 40 days, there should be an increase in cases. Based on the readings from the previous year, the notice has been issued.
