A new chatbot named Chat GPT, created by artificially intelligent non-profit OpenAI Inc., has gained attention and prompted people to consider its potential applications in several industries. According to a story by The Independent, in a different example, a graduate student employed the bot service to create a university essay, and it was approved.
A recent university graduate named Pieter Snepvangers made the decision to test the AI program to see if, in theory, it might be utilized for courses. He instructed the artificial intelligence bot to create a 2,000 word essay on social policy during the process, which it did in just 20 minutes.

Pieter also requested feedback from his instructors on the essay. The instructor predicted a mark of 53, or a 2:2. According to the story, he expressed disbelief at learning that a professor at a university had acknowledged that students might “cheat their way” to a passing mark.

In order to determine whether Chat GPT could actually be successful, Pieter says, “I selected a reasonably prestigious Russell Group university and asked one of its teachers if I could do his final year social policy assessment.” In total, he said, it took 20 minutes to create an essay that was meant to reflect 12 weeks of learning.
The study also stated that the faculty believed the text to be somewhat “fishy” and shallow, calling for appropriate analysis of the problem. You may fake your way to a 2:2, but you can’t cheat your way to a first-class degree, he said.

Recently, there have been several news reports about people using the chatbot to pass challenging tests, which is why experts are worried that the tool can be abused. According to the study, while British colleges are “scrambling” to assess how they can identify its use, students in the US have been forbidden from using ChatGPT in classroom settings.
