Boris Johnson steps down as United Kingdom PM amidst series of controversies

Boris Johnson

The Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Thursday has finally failed in the political realm as he stated that he was sad but had to announce his resignation as the leader of Conservative Party. His resignation from the Prime Minister ship has left a void and an election is to be conducted for the new Tory leader to become the new PM of UK.

Talking about his resignation, he said that he will continue in the office until a new Conservative leader takes over him. Outside 10 Downing Street, Boris said, “The process of choosing a new leader should begin now. And today I have appointed a cabinet to serve, as I will until a new leader is in place”

Adding further in his remarks, he said, “It is clearly the will of the parliamentary Conservative party that there should be a new leader of that party, and therefore a new prime minister.” At 58, he announced stepping down as the PM of UK after his party had faced a series of resignation in the wake of overt protest and criticism.

The new range of activities and timetable for the race of new Tory leadership is most likely to be announced by next week, as per what Boris Johnson said after standing the position for three consecutive years in the office through the Brexit, continuous controversy over mendacity and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The election for new leadership is about to begin from the summer months, and the victor aims at replacing Boris Johnson’s party in the annual conference about to be conducted during early October days. This news has been covered by BBC news.

Soon after his resignation, Boris Johnson said that he was “sad… to be giving up the best job in the world” and justified his decision after happily serving the nation after he won the general elections back in December 2019.

After days of controversial defaulting, the scandal-plagued UK Prime Minister was deserted by a majority of his allies soon after the latest series of scandals were broken that led them against his regime.
