BJP lashes out on Congress leader for derogatory comments on President Murmu

Udit Raj, a former congressman and leader of the Congress, is in controversy after tweeting about President Droupadi Murmu, saying “no country should get such a President.” The BJP has strongly criticized the Congress leader and questioned whether the group supports this slur.

Shehzad Poonawalla, a spokesman for the BJP, tweeted: “Unacceptable language from Udit Raj toward the first woman Adivasi President! Does the Congress support this slur on the Adivasi community?”

The other two Congress leaders who got into problems for their remarks about President Droupadi Murmu are Ajoy Kumar and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury. Udit Raj is the third. The BJP spokesperson tweeted, “Congress stoops to a new low after Ajoy Kumar referred to President Draupadi Murmu as evil and subsequently Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary used the term “Rashtrapatni.”

The President was criticized by the Congress leader for her remarks on salt that she made on Monday during her visit to Gujarat. According to the President, Gujarat produces 76% of the nation’s salt, which is eaten by every Indian.

The Congressman tweeted, “No country should get a president like that.” The language used against President Murmu, according to BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, is regrettable and alarming. They’ve used words like this before, so it’s not new. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury from the Congress also did it. This demonstrates their anti-tribal outlook, according to Patra.

Ajoy Kumar, the leader of the Congress, claimed that Droupadi Murmu represented the “bad mentality of India” when she ran for president as the NDA’s candidate. The Congress leader added that his remarks were not directed at Droupadu Murmu personally and that he respects him.

After receiving criticism for referring to the President as “Rashtrapatni,” Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury later apologized and said it was an error. He agreed he was wrong and stated that things as such should not have happened and that he was largely misunderstood.
