The third phase of the vaccination campaign will begin from May 1 amid the second wave of Corona epidemic in the country. In this, people above 18 years of age will be vaccinated. For this, the registration facility on the Kovin website and Arogya Setu App started at 4 pm on Wednesday. The news of the website crash came out as soon as it started, but it was rectified in a short time.

After that, 35 lakhs were registered in an hour. In view of the increasing infection in the country, on 19 April, the central government announced to start the third phase of vaccination campaign in the country from May 1 and to introduce vaccines to all people above the age of 18 years.

In this phase, the government also gave state governments the rights to purchase directly from vaccine manufacturers. After this, on 22 April, the government announced to start registration for the third phase from 28 April.

According to the Hindustan Times , as soon as the registration started on the CoWin website and the Arogya Setu App at 4 pm, it started to gain momentum. Due to which the server stopped working and the error started appearing. In this, the most difficulty was getting the OTP from the people. However, the technical flaws of the website and the app were resolved in a short time

and the registration work was smooth. After the OTP was not found on the Kovin website and the Aer appeared, people started posting posts about the site crashing on social media. However, later the Arogya Setu app tweeted and informed about the working of the website.

National Health Authority Chief Executive Officer (CEO) RS Sharma said that initially there was some problem due to increased load on the website and app, but was later rectified. After this, 35 lakh people got registered in just one hour. He said that there is a lot of enthusiasm among people of 18-44 years of age regarding vaccination. This was the reason that the load on the website increased. Sharma said that many people who had registered did not see the list of hospitals for the vaccine. The reason was that states have not uploaded them.

He informed that the slot to be vaccinated will depend on the state government and private hospitals. When the state and private hospitals provide information about the vaccine price etc., then people will get the slot. In some states, the vaccination campaign will start only after May 1. Sharma said that in the earlier stages about 50 lakh people were registered on the Kovin website in a day. So, this time its capacity is one crore registrations. In this case, this server is able to take full load for registration. He said that initially there was some problem, but that was fixed. After this he has delivered 87 lakh OTPs in 1.5 hours. This in itself is a large number.
