Ram Setu, starring actor Akshay Kumar, is off to a fantastic start at the box office. The movie made around 15 crore on its first day of release (October 25), which is reportedly the second-best opening day for a Hindi original film in 2022.
“Ram Setu has proven to be the ideal Diwali outing and has brought holiday pleasure to the box office as the shows have greatly increased in popularity. According to industry expert Atul Mohan, the movie actually performed better than the competition by earning almost twice as much on its opening day. He continues, “It is a true depiction of celebration of cinema while enjoying the festivals. The correct information and activity are included in a flawless bundle.”
The movie, which follows the journey and exploits of an archaeologist played by Kumar as he undertakes a mission to prove the existence of Ram Setu—the bridge between India and Sri Lanka that is mentioned in the epic Ramayana—is doing well with audiences outside of Tier 1 cities in states like Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

“Hardcore action or humor movies have typically been released around Diwali, but Ram Setu also has some drama. Nevertheless, the movie went ahead and made Rs. 15 crore on its opening day, which is a major deal and the outcome of positive word-of-mouth. Hollywood’s superhero movie was also a rival for it. But Ram Setu overcame everything and did so well, which is amazing.”
According to industry expert Joginder Tuteja, it has actually made spectators and exhibitors happy during the holiday season. In fact, the Twittersphere has developed into a reflection of the spreading word-of-mouth about the movie as people utilize the platform to express their opinions after seeing it.
