A brand-new airline, Akasa Air, will soon enable passengers to bring their pets along. Booking for the same will begin on October 15, and the first Akasa Air trip with animal passengers is scheduled to depart on November 1.

Pets are already permitted on board Air India, Jet Airways, SpiceJet, and Vistara flights, although IndiGo and Air Asia do not, unless the pet is a service animal, such as a guide dog for a blind person.
