The Indian business tycoon Anand Mahindra on Monday reiterated through his tweets that he will willingly hire ‘Agniveer’(the recruits of Agnipath) in his firm after their assigned service. Mahindra believes that these recruits carry extensive abilities and can be an ideal prospect for India’s corporate sector.

The chairman of the Mahindra group had recently showed his discouragement of the vehement protests going around the country; he said he is extremely saddened by the developments. The 67 year old tweeted his heart out against outrageousness of the crowd amidst the bracing violence that most Indian states are witnessing.

As Bharat Bandh call stands still on Monday, his tweeted came in. It reads: “Extremely saddened by the violence around the Agneepath program. When the scheme was mooted last year I stated-& I repeat-the discipline & skills Agniveers gain will make them eminently employable. The Mahindra Group welcomes the opportunity to recruit such trained, capable young people.”

Adding further to his concerned tweet, Mahindra wrote, “Large potential for employment of Agniveers in the corporate sector. With leadership, teamwork & physical training, agniveers provide market-ready professional solutions to industry, covering the full spectrum from operations to administration & supply chain management (sic).”

Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh are among the states that have already announced the recruitment of Agniveers under the Agnipath scheme. As reiterated by the Home and Defense Ministry on Sunday, most recruits will be placed under government departments.

Amidst the rising force of protests, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has meted out alterations in the scheme – 10% vacancies are to be kept for Assam Rifles and central paramilitary forces and Agniveers on the completion of their four year tenure under the Agnipath scheme. Amit Shah gave an exclusive statement before the media about the same. On Saturday, the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his office have accepted the 10% reservation policy as well.

On the same day, Service Chief, in a press conference, told the media that the Agnipath scheme was long due and now since the government has introduced it, the scheme has no chances of rolling back.

The Agnipath scheme’s ultimate goal lies in enhancing the skill of young Indian workforce lying in the age-group of 17-21myears. Another addition – the one time waiver of increasing the upper limit to 23 – was also introduced to the scheme last week.
