Given that the Rohit Sharma-led team is yet to secure a spot in the championship game, India does keep one eye on the WTC points standings. Their current PCT is 61.67%, much above Sri Lanka’s third-place finish (53.33).
Australia, on the other hand, continues to lead the standings and just needs a victory to lock up a spot in the WTC championship match. Their PCT, however, has dropped from 75.56 to 70.83 percent.
India has not yet formally confirmed their participation in the WTC final for a second straight year. To secure a spot, the runners-up from the previous cycle must prevail in at least two of the remaining three Border-Gavaskar matches.
