Being one of the first countries to receive authorisation and legalisation of the Covid-19 vaccine, the U.S. stands firm today in respect to the war against the deadly pandemic. Their vaccine has effectively shown positive results, while conforming to a few nuisances. Here are five things to know about the Covid-19 vaccination drive in the United States:
1. Safety of the vaccine is a top priority: The U.S. vaccine system has undertaken all measures to ensure that the doses are extremely safe and human friendly for use. CDC has developed a new tool named ‘v-safe’, just to provide an additional layer of safety monitoring to the vaccination drive.
2. Two doses of the vaccine is necessary to ensure safety from Covid-19: On getting any vaccine, it is important to get a second shot after 3-4 weeks, in order to ensure all round protection and safety from Covid-19.
3. Having some side effects is normal, don’t panic: There might be some side effects like flu, tiredness or inactivity after a dose of the vaccine. However, that shouldn’t be much of a concern as it is totally natural.
4. Cost is not an obstacle to getting vaccinated: Vaccinations purchased with the U.S taxpayer dollars will be provided to the American people at no cost. Hence, cost will not be a restraint on not getting vaccinated for anyone.
5. There’s currently a limited supply for the vaccine doses: Although the U.S has been able to develop an effective vaccine which highly works against the virus, yet the doses produced have been minimal in number. Production of vaccines on a larger scale is in process, however it will take some time to do so.
